Our CEO and principal consultant is John Humphreys. He passionately brings 35 years of real world experience in the power and process industries to bear when resolving clients’ problems. Hard-working, easy going and fair-minded, his logical, innovative and informal approach brings enthusiasm and mature leadership to team development and goal accomplishment. Drawing on his diverse experience and background he applies an engineering approach, scientific method and project management fundamentals to meet client needs. His strong plant operations background levels the playing field when it comes to getting it right the first time. From civil work and piling, through to substantial completion, commissioning and ongoing-operation he has been there leading the way: No re-work, no call-backs, just getting it done.

John’s primary credentials include a 1st Class Power Engineering Certification, Project Management Certification (PMP), National Construction Safety Officer training and a MA and BA in Psychology. As a true life-long learner, he is blessed with a healthy dose of curiosity that motivates him to understand the world around him whether it is in the technical, business or people arena. The challenge, as he sees it, is to apply knowledge learned from a diverse number of areas to client problems at hand. Tasks are often best mastered by the application of the tried and true combined with the cross-fertilization of ideas from other venues. Rather than think outside the box he questions why we might need the box. This comprehension generates efficient, cost effective solutions that ultimately are the best fit for client purpose.

John has worked in marine, mining, pulp & paper, oil & gas and the utility industry with an emphasis on Power and Process throughout his career. Aside from the challenge of work and learning new things, he enjoys his time with family, physical fitness, residential construction, fishing and foreign travel.
